Stormwater Workshop for Businesses
The Carroll County Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) sponsors a workshop designed to equip Carroll County businesses with knowledge of the good housekeeping and best management practices (BMPs) that will protect water quality and prevent issues for these businesses in the future. The last workshop was held on January 5, 2016. The timing of the next workshop will depend on demand and interest.
Businesses were able to learn about how stormwater requirements relate to their businesses:
- Stormwater pollution
- Stormwater regulations that may affect your business
- Best management practices (BMPs) for stormwater pollution prevention
- Simple, common sense good housekeeping measures
- Common stormwater discharge violations
- Performing your own in-house stormwater compliance inspection
- Courtesy assistance visits
- What to do if you have a potential illicit discharge
- Local businesses making a difference
- How your business can be recognized for promoting clean water practices
