The federal government recently announced significant changes that impact the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP).  The changes will end some benefits and services that were temporarily made available to customers due to the Public Health Emergency (PHE) during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The federal decision ends SNAP Emergency Allotments. Emergency allotments are extra SNAP benefits provided to eligible households since April 2020. All SNAP households will see a decrease in benefits due to this policy change.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – Emergency Allotments end February 28, 2023.
