The Prettyboy Reservoir watershed is located in the northeast corner of Carroll County. The watershed is within the Gunpowder River Basin in the Piedmont physiographic province of Maryland and consists of five (5) major subwatersheds. The Prettyboy Reservoir watershed drains into the Prettyboy Reservoir, which is a major drinking water intake for the City of Baltimore.

Carroll County is seeking citizen feedback and comments on six separate watershed restoration plans, characterization plans, and stream corridor assessments for the following watersheds in Carroll County: Upper and Lower Monocacy, Prettyboy, Loch Raven, Double Pipe Creek and Liberty. The purpose of the watershed restoration plans is to outline the steps required to restore and protect the respective watershed area.
