Residents may recycle yard trim (leaves, grass, shrubs, and tree trimmings less than 8’ in length and 12” in diameter) at the Northern Landfill and at Hood's Mill Landfill on select dates. This service is free of charge for residents only. Any material from a private landscaper or commercial-based operation is subject to being charged at the current rate.

Yard trim must be brought in paper lawn bags or loose, plastic bags are prohibited. NO bamboo, poison ivy/oak, sumac, Japanese Stilt Grass, or other invasive species.

The Northern Landfill, located at 1400 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster, MD 21157 is open Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Hoods Mill Landfill is located at 7901 Kabik Court, Woodbine, MD, hours are from 7:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. on select Saturdays, click here for a list of dates. Note that Hoods Mill Landfill is closed for drop-off of any items other than yard trim.
