Escape the July heat by exploring the underground Luray Caverns, the largest caverns in the eastern United States. Walk along well-lighted, paved walkways that guide you through cathedral-sized rooms with ceilings 10-stories high, towering stone formations, and natural wonders at every turn. The enormous chambers are filled with stone columns, shimmering draperies and crystal-clear pools. The caverns stay a consistent 54 degrees, so a light jacket is recommended.
