Westminster, MD, Monday, May 10, 2021 – Beginning in May, the Carroll County Bureau of Aging & Disabilities (BOAD) will offer free virtual workshops for Living Healthy, Living Well with Chronic Conditions.

Chronic Disease Self-Management is a series of workshops for adults of all ages who have ongoing health problems, chronic pain, or who live with someone that does. Originally developed at Stanford University, the Living Healthy, Living Well workshops are part of an evidence-based self-management program that has been proven effective in helping attendees manage their health and pain. Workshops consist of six sessions held on Tuesdays beginning May 18, 2021 from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. Living Healthy, Living Well workshops offer a hands-on opportunity to discover solutions that work with life, health concerns, and pain. With support in a Living Healthy, Living Well workshop, attendees can build confidence to make new choices and feel better. Participants create weekly action plans, share experiences, and help each other solve problems in creating and implementing their personal self-management program.

BOAD is pleased to begin offering these programs virtually, at no cost to the public. If the lack of technology holds you back from participating in online BOAD and Senior Center programs, please contact Leslie Wagner at 410-386-3818 to determine eligibility for our new data-enabled tablet loan program.
