(April 1, 2021) – The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin improving the road surface on MD 86 (Lineboro Road) in Carroll County on Monday, April 5. Starting at 8 a.m., crews will mill, patch and resurface MD 86 between MD 30 (Hanover Pike) and the Pennsylvania state line, a span of about four miles. The project is expected to be complete in May, weather permitting.

MDOT SHA’s contractor, C.J. Miller, LLC of Hampstead, is performing the work, which will take place weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Motorists can expect a single lane closure and flagging operation while the work is taking place. On Monday, crews will close a section of MD 86 between Hallie Avenue and MD 30 during the work hours. Motorists will be detoured using Hallie Avenue. Local access will be available for residential and commercial traffic.

MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers.  Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving and, look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes.  Drive like you work here and slow down in construction zones.
