Westminster, MD, Monday, November 23, 2020 – In Open Session on November 19, 2020, the Carroll County Board of Commissioners approved changes to Carroll transit routes. The following changes will take effect on January 4, 2020:

  • 2 additional Westminster TrailBlazer buses – reducing wait times to 30 minutes
  • 2 new Trailblazer routes in North Carroll and South Carroll, to go to and from BERC, allow wait times in for these routes to be 30 minutes – fare of $1 or $.50 if a senior/Medicare cardholder/person with a disability
  • Removal of 17 stops across all routes

Specific route removals and changes:

Westminster: Removing Bishops Garth Apartments, CC Health Department, Dept of Social Services, and Westminster Crossing East and ADDING 410 Malcolm Drive

Taneytown: Removing Grand & Fairground, Westminster Community Pool, and Meadow Creek

North Carroll: Removing Manchester Manor, Hampstead Marketplace, Boxwood & Century

South Carroll: Removing Walgreens, Springfield Complex, Liberty Exchange, Carrolltown Village, Piney Run Apartments, Weis Markets, and Gaither Manor

New demand response option for Saturdays will replace the Westminster Saturday TrailBlazer

  • Available 7 am – 1 pm
  • 5-mile radius from Westminster Library
  • No same-day appointment available

As a reminder, in order to continue preventing the potential spread of COVID-19, buses are restricted to 50% maximum capacity to allow for appropriate physical distancing.  Additional buses are on standby in the area to pick up additional riders if needed.  All CTS drivers and riders are still required to wear a mask or facial covering in order to board a CTS vehicle. Facial coverings must stay in place for the entire trip, including entering and exiting the vehicle. CTS reminds all clients to wash your hands, cover your cough and sneeze, and if you are feeling sick, been in contact with anyone with COVID-19, or running a high temperature, please stay home to help prevent the spread of the virus.
