Joint Commissioner and Carroll County Delegation – Listening Session
Westminster, MD, Monday, August 12, 2024 – The Board of Commissioners (BoC) and the Carroll County Delegation will hold a joint listening session regarding the Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project (MPRP) on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the Carroll County Agriculture Center - Shipley Arena, 706 Agricultural Center Dr, Westminster, MD 21157.
Your elected officials continue to voice their opposition of the MPRP strongly. They are opposing every level of government, including Governor Moore and Senators Cardin and Van Hollen. In doing so, the Board of Commissioners and Carroll County’s state delegation are working to build bipartisan opposition to this project. Now, they want to hear from you!
Event Details:
- This is a county-sponsored event, un-associated with PSEG, the contractor awarded the MPRP. PSEG representatives will not be in attendance.
- Doors open at 5:00 pm and public comment begins at 6:00 pm.
- There is no air conditioning at the Ag Center. Fans will be running; however, it is anticipated that the building may be very warm. Please plan accordingly. It is recommended participants bring water, and wear light, loose-fit clothing appropriate for the weather.
- Public comments will end at 9:00 pm. The BoC and state delegation will be present until 9:00 pm to continue the 1:1 conversation.
- This event will not be livestreamed. It will be recorded and can be viewed at your convenience.

- If you wish to comment, please go to a county information table to receive a card with a number.
- Comments must be limited to two (2) minutes per A timer is in the front of the room.
- Speakers cannot allocate their time to another individual.
- Listen for your number to be called and proceed to the microphone closest to you.
- Please keep in mind, that this is the public’s opportunity to comment. Time is not allotted for the commissioners to answer questions or engage in dialogue.
- Please be respectful of all speakers and audience members.
- The President of the Board of Commissioners will enforce the above rules.
