Board of Carroll County Commissioners Petition to Intervene PSEG’s Application for Certificate of Public Convenience
Westminster, MD, Friday, January 31, 2025 – The Board of Carroll County Commissioners (Board) is filing a “petition to intervene” with the Maryland Public Service Commission (MPSC) regarding Case No. 9773, the Public Service Enterprise Group’s (PSEG’s) application for a certificate of Public Convenience to proceed with the Maryland Piedmont Reliability Powerline Project (MPRP). The board opposes the MPRP and petitioning the MPSC is a unified effort to stop the project.
According to the public notice, advertised in the Carroll County Times on Friday, January 31st, the deadline to submit petitions is the close of business, on Monday, February 17, 2025. The board strongly urges residents also to file petitions and have their voices heard. The notice states, “Any persons seeking to intervene with this proceeding must file petitions to intervene with the Commission’s Executive Secretary, Andrew S. Johnston, William Donald Schaefer Tower, 6 St Paul Street, 16th Floor, Baltimore, MD 21202 by close of business, February 17, 2025, and must reference case No. 9773."
Petitions can be E-filed. Click this link for instructions on the e-file system.
