Westminster, MD, Wednesday, May 8, 2024 – Beginning May 21st, the Carroll County Bureau of Aging & Disabilities (BOAD) will offer a virtual workshop for Living Healthy, Living Well with Chronic Conditions. The workshop is free for adults 60 years and older and a fee of $28 for adults 59 years and younger.

Diabetes Self-Management is a series of workshops for adults of all ages who are diagnosed with diabetes, or pre-diabetes, or who live with someone who does. Originally developed at Stanford University, the Living Healthy, Living Well workshops are part of an evidence-based self-management program that has proven effective in helping attendees manage their diabetes. The program has proven health benefits and complements the diabetic medical management services people receive from their providers. The workshop consists of six sessions, held virtually on Tuesdays beginning May 21, 2024, from 9:00 am to 11:30 am.

Living Healthy, Living Well workshops offer a hands-on opportunity to discover solutions that work with life, health concerns, and pain. With support in a Living Healthy, Living Well program, attendees can build confidence to make new choices and feel better. Participants create weekly action plans, share experiences, and help each other solve problems in creating and implementing their personal self-management program.

BOAD is pleased to offer this program virtually, at no cost to those 60 years of age and older, and $28 to those 59 and younger.
