Carroll County Youth Art Contest Winners Announced

Westminster, MD, Thursday, March 6, 2025 – Carroll County Public School middle and high school students were invited to showcase their creativity in an exciting art contest, "Ignite Potential, Embrace the Outdoors: Tobacco-Free and Vape-Free Adventures." The contest aimed to raise awareness about the health risks associated with tobacco and vaping while encouraging youth to embrace a healthy, active lifestyle.
The winners of this year’s contest are Hrithika More, 6th Grade, Sykesville Middle and Grace Stine, 10th Grade FSK High School, Artwork Title: Choose the Right Path, Your Life is in Your Hands!
Students were encouraged to submit original artwork reflecting the theme: "Your Life, Your Health, Your Choice." The contest featured two categories: Middle School (grades 6-8) and High School (grades 9-12). A total of 8 entries were submitted in the middle school category and 3 for the high school group. The Carroll County Health Department awarded the Youth Serving Community Grant to the Carroll County Department of Recreation and Parks, allowing the department to present each winner with a $200 reward. The winning pieces, seen below, will be featured in public awareness campaigns to educate the community about the dangers of tobacco and vaping and the benefits of a tobacco-free, vape-free lifestyle.
