Westminster, MD, Thursday, September 12, 2024 – The Carroll County Board of Commissioners (CCBoC) is seeking applicants to serve as the Soil Conservation District Supervisor on the Board of Supervisors (board) for the Soil Conservation District. The supervisor is an appointed position and serves at the pleasure of the CCBoC. This role is a 5-year term and will begin in January 2025.

The board is responsible for the soil conservation, water quality, and drainage programs carried out by the district and meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7 pm.  Meetings are held at the Carroll Soil Conservation Office located at 698 Corporate Center Court, Westminster.  Members have an opportunity to serve a second term if reappointed.

The Soil Conservation Districts law specifies that the supervisors shall be interested and knowledgeable in the conservation of soil, water, and related natural resources and shall be persons who are, by training and experience, qualified to perform the specialized skilled services that will be required of them in the performance of their duties. A supervisor must be a resident of the district.
