County Seeks Police Administrative Charging Committee Members
Westminster, MD, Tuesday, March 5, 2024 –The commissioners are now accepting applications online for the Carroll County Administrative Charging Committee. Due to the time and training necessary to serve, the county is accepting applications beginning now. Appointees will be required to take an “in person” five-day training course on matters relating to police procedures at the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission in Sykesville before serving.
The Carroll County Administrative Charging Committee (CCAC) meets monthly and reviews individual police disciplinary investigations to determine whether administrative charges against an officer are appropriate. The Board of County Commissioners appoints two of five members.
Details about the committee, qualifications, term information, and other details are available on the CCAC webpage. For additional resources, please visit the Carroll County Police Accountability Board webpage.
Each member of the CCACC shall be a Carroll County resident and shall not have a charge pending or have been convicted of, or received probation before judgment for, a felony or misdemeanor for which a sentence of one or more years could have been imposed.
