PSEG Submits Application to the Public Service Commission
Westminster, MD, Friday, January 3, 2025 – The Board of Carroll County Commissioners (board) is sharing with the public that the Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) announced on December 31st, 2024, that they filed an application to the Public Service Commission for the Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project.
PSEG’s press releases stated: The application highlights the need for additional energy infrastructure to avoid severe and widespread reliability issues as determined by PJM (the independent Regional Transmission Organization), explains the reliability and economic benefits the MPRP will bring to the residents of Maryland and explains why the MPRP was selected as a cost-effective solution to address these needs…..The public is invited to view the proposed route and learn more about the routing process and project by visiting: mprp.com.

The purpose of sharing this information with the community is to keep everyone informed and not to condone the installation of the power lines. The board upholds the principles of protecting property owner rights, local control and land use and permitting authority. The board is strongly opposed to the MPRP and remains steadfast in working with local, state, and federal leaders to stop the project.
