Westminster, MD, July 26, 2023 – The Carroll County Board of Commissioners (BOC) invite all interested residents to join them at a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Charles Carroll Community Center. The event is Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 9:00 AM at the site of the former Charles Carroll Elementary School, 3719 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD.  The event will include a ceremony, light refreshments, and tours of the facility.

In addition, the Carroll County Department of Recreation and Parks, together with the Charles Carroll Recreation Council, will host an Open House on Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon at the new center. All are invited to attend this event and participate in building tours, demonstrations, and light refreshments.

The new building is 13,000 square feet with a full-size gymnasium, two multipurpose rooms, and a technology room that will have Wi-Fi access. The full-size gymnasium will be used for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball.

The events will be held rain or shine.
