Westminster, MD, August 7, 2023 – Due to today’s severe weather, the Charles Carroll Community Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is postponed until 9:00 am on Saturday, August 12th. The ceremony will be at the site of the former Charles Carroll Elementary School, 3719 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD. 

Immediately following the brief ceremony, the Carroll County Department of Recreation and Parks, together with the Charles Carroll Recreation Council, will host an Open House from approximately 9:30 am – 12:00 noon at the new center. All are invited to attend this event and participate in building tours, demonstrations, and light refreshments.

The new building is 13,000 square feet with a full-size gymnasium, two multipurpose rooms, and a technology room with Wi-Fi access. The full-size gymnasium will be used for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball.
