Westminster, MD, Monday, October 3, 2022 – The Carroll County Board of Commissioners together with the Carroll County Department of Land and Resource Management are excited to invite all those interested to the county’s first Environmental Symposium. The event will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Carroll Community College, Room K-100, 1601 Washington Road in Westminster.

The event will feature a meet and greet showcasing Carroll County community groups focused on environmental stewardship.  This event is free and open to the public to meet and talk with citizen groups who care about our county and the environment.  Attendees will learn more about these environmental groups and how to promote and implement practices to sustain the county’s natural resources. 

The symposium will also feature a youth recycled art contest, open to high school students who live in Carroll County.  This artwork will be showcased at the symposium and attendees will have the opportunity to admire the art and vote for a favorite.  All entrants will receive a free T-shirt and a stainless-steel reusable water bottle and will earn 10 service-learning hours for participating. The winning artists will receive a prize.
